YANGON, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar is planning to hold an international agrimach expo in Yango early next month to showcase agro equipment, latest innovation in technology, fertilizer and input, the official Global New Light of Myanmar reported Thursday.
Scheduled for March 1 to 3, the expo will be joined by exhibitors from Japan, Italy, Switzerland, India, China, South Korea and Thailand, the Myanmar Paddy Producers Association (MPPA) was quoted as saying.
These countries will display items such as farm equipment, value-adding technology, agro-products and input, said MPPA, which is the organizer of the expo.
The aim of the expo is to mark Myanmar Peasants' Day falling on March 2 and help build connections with international participants, hold demonstrations, business-to-business matching and display latest agro-based machinery.
In addition, educative talks, seminars and performances will be attached to the expo.
The expo will feature 80 stalls from 40 local and foreign companies.
Myanmar is implementing a three-year master plan (2018-2021) for development of agriculture in Yangon region, worked out by agricultural organizations and experts.
The master plan includes 22 agricultural development projects under government-private partnership and is designed to create more than 6,000 job opportunities, officials said.
